Our History

In 2001, dramatic cuts in managed care reimbursements forced our CEO, Dr. Jim C. Brasfield, to take a much closer look at the business aspect of his medical practice. He quickly recognized the tremendous productivity limitations, unnecessary expense, and lost reimbursement caused by operational inefficiency. Absence of an effective information management platform prohibited significant improvements to the business efficiency of his medical practice.

In October 2004, Dr. Jim Brasfield, Spencer Brasfield, Esq. and Tyler Brasfield, formed ECURE, LLC, to develop a cost effective solution to overcome these managed care challenges. To ensure success, ECURE strategically located its headquarters inside the walls of our CEO's high volume neurosurgical practice, thus giving ECURE the ultimate laboratory. To this day, ECURE enjoys the perfect partnership between development and end user.

ECURE now offers a full complement of services that will maximize the efficiency of your ambulatory surgery centers, specialty hospitals, corporate clinics, and physician practices.

Jim Brasfield, MD, CEO

Dr. Jim C. Brasfield is a board certified neurosurgeon and a graduate of the University Of Tennessee School Of Medicine. During his resident training program, Dr. Brasfield served as Chief Resident of the Department of Neurosurgery at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. In 1985, Dr. Brasfield completed his residency and founded his current medical practice, Bristol Neurosurgical Associates. Today, his practice stands distinctly paperless, productive, cost effective, as Dr. Brasfield sees more patients than ever before. "I would quit practicing before I would go back to paper. The clinical efficiency, administrative simplification, and resulting quality of life betterments in my practice are simply not possible in an inefficient, paper-based environment."

Spencer Brasfield, Esq., CLO

Mr. Spencer Brasfield, Esquire, is a licensed attorney in the state of Tennessee and a graduate of the University of Memphis School of Law. In 2004, Spencer resigned his position with West & Rose, a well known law firm, to accept an in-house position as Chief Legal Officer (CLO) with ECURE responsible for regulatory compliance, intellectual property rights, risk management, and other legal areas. During his tenure, Spencer has also successfully led ECURE while serving in interim positions as CEO, COO, CIO, and VP of Business Development.

Tyler Brasfield, COO

Mr. Tyler Brasfield graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Prior to joining ECURE in a full-time capacity, Tyler worked as a consultant for Stockamp and Associates, a healthcare consulting firm focused on revenue cycle operations for major hospitals. While at Stockamp, Tyler focused on financial and operational analysis to develop and implement process change initiatives for clients such as Inova Health Systems, Medtronic Minimed, Lenox Hill Hospital, and North Shore Long Island Jewish Medical Center. In 2007, Tyler resigned from his position at Stockamp and Associates to accept a full-time position as Chief Operating Officer (COO) with ECURE.
